Zero Hour CLIMATE CRISIS CAMPAIGN

Zero Hour are an ever-growing team that include a mixture of people from scientists to politicians with a joint aim for the UK to lead the way and make a legally-binding commitment to the climate & nature crisis.

This project was to produce an effective branding campaign through the use of multiple different outputs to convey Zero Hour’s message. Remaining cohesive across all outputs is vital for representing a brands identity and by utilising brand guidelines made this possible.

THE POSTER

Inspired by artist Peter Kennard whose work is very UK orientated and disruptive due to his controversial themes.

I Utilised a dark background to isolate content in the foreground. The image of hands makes it more personal to the audience but also gives of a sense of drama due to it being a black and white image. Using an illustration of the UK helps establish where this campaign and its messages are being aimed at. Whilst using bold text with a second-person pronoun makes the message more direct and more actionable. In addition, using vibrant colours for the text emphasises the message
even more.

THE LEAFLET

Partnered alongside the poster, the DL leaflet condenses information from Zero Hour’s website to get their message across more directly. Designed for leaflet stands found in the likes of train stations and cafes, a prominent title and image was utilised on a dark background to gain audience attention. A 4 page leaflet was utilised to be more wieldy and convenient for audiences to not deter them away from picking the item up.

ONLINE PRESENCE

As most of the outputs are printed I created digital assets for an Instagram carousel. I wanted to limit the panels so that audiences would not lose interest and settled on having four as I thought that would be sufficient enough to get the message and the brand image across. Just like my poster and leaflet I wanted to show this idea of following the logo through its journey as well as having images with hands to emphasise human involvement.
